So...what made you go the Google ad route, Antony?

It's easy, I can leave it be and hopefully it can make money. Plus I've had various people telling me it's the right things to do.

But there's not enough variety in them, and I need to work in some Amazon ads too.

Does the mere act of clicking on a banner ad rack up money for the site?

For Google yes. Although "rack up" may be an overstatement.

And the Public Service Ads are run for free.

I was concerned that my having said something like "get you a couple of pennies" would have had the potential to be demeaning or insulting. So, I thought I'd fluff the feathers a bit with a happier sounding "rack up."
