Personally I thought Angel hit rock bottom with the whole Connor story line. It never recovered after that except for a very brief glimmer of hope with the addition of Spike to the cast in season five.
 
I just saw final episode, "Not Fade Away". Very good ending.

I can't belive how much Alexis Denisof had improved. In S1 he was the worst actor in the world, in S2 he was OK but here he shined.
 
Damn! I hate when that happens. I just get into a show and it ends. :(. Homicide, Crusade, Firefly, etc

I come at this from a different angle. I just got into Angel during its final season-having never been able to sit through more than 10 excruciating minutes of Buffy at a time.

What a great ending! I really liked the arc that was set up this season.
