    B5 Moment.

For me, the meaning of "anamorphic widescreen" in the sense of Babylon 5 disks means: assuming NTSC, the video stream on disk is 720x480 (aspect ratio 1.5). The container of the stream instructs DVD players "show this stream at 1.78". How particular players fulfill this recommendation, is up to...

    JMS Scripts Ship Date?

Mine still hasn't arrived -- but I guess I can wait a few more days before calling someone from CafePress.

Nuttin to see here, move along...

Re: B5:SD Needs A Programmer! If something can be made freely, it can be published anonymously. If publishing so would hurt someone, or deprive them of deserved profit... I would recommend against it. If publishing so wouldn't hurt anyone, or the profit denied is mere hypothetical profit (or...

    B5 SCRIPTS 2 B PUBLISHED!!!

Now that you remind, PayPal is something I get to curse on a regular basis. :) They don't accept registration from multiple countries, and multiple stores use their services in apparent unawareness of this.

    B5 SCRIPTS 2 B PUBLISHED!!!

Besides, CafePress seems to ship internationally without putting an axe in your back. I've bought silly memorabilia via them before (to support some open-source software projects) but I didn't know they had access to that serious printing capacity. Then again, multiple years have passed...

The Be Five - Trying To Forget

Checked. Most unfortunately, the leaflet packaged with "Trying to Forget" does not contain the song lyrics. Perhaps they can be located elsewhere?

The Be Five - Trying To Forget

Unfortunately I don't remember whether "Trying to Forget" actually had song texts included with the disk. I'll check when I get home (currently at work).

    EpDis: GROPOS

Could have been a game involving rock, scizzors and paper. Perhaps the fortress was uniquely equipped to deal with orbital opponents (enough to force the Earth starship to stay outside its field of view) and low-altitude aerial attack/landing *was* sensible? We weren't really told. Nor can we...

LOST Season 2 Premiere tonight at 9pm

All this stuff about luck and numbers... reminded me of a silly parallel: the game Locke demonstrated to a kid in the toy shop (first season episode). Mouse Trap, or what was the game called? Winner is... who builds the longest working chain of causality? I sense a parallel with the numbers and...

    Damn you JMS!

I've only known of B5 since 1998, and started participating online somewhat later. It's been a while, I notice. :eek

    Damn you JMS!

For a multimedia release, we'd need a convenient form of digital paper -- notably more readable than TFT screens. Unfortunately, none is widespread yet... and for my picky criteria... none actually exists yet.

    Damn you JMS!

No worry. They'll surely ship to everyone who expresses willingness to buy. Besides, given the notable desirability of the material, even an export restriction by Vorlon Empire would not prevent me from getting it.

    Damn you JMS!

I will certainly be highly interested in reading those scripts. It is a sizable chunk, but should spread out nicely over time. Besides, if they get decent, predictable sales volume, they might consider dropping the price. Printing in half-decent volume shouldn't cost that much.

    EpDis: The Fall Of Night

Turbulence from ground does exist... but turbulences eventually cancel each other out. Given time to stablize, I think the whole air mass would start spinning fairly cohesively. Core shuttles are streamlined little things, going back and forth in the presumably calmest part of the station...

"The form you have submitted is no longer valid."

Re: \"The form you have submitted is no longer vali By the way... sorry to be so unattentive, but I really don't remember whether it happened with the "Quick reply" function, or the ordinary reply function. Since I typically use the ordinary reply function, I suspect it was that. Also, I...

    EpDis: The Fall Of Night

Heh. I don't know such functions either, especially for a zero-gravity environment. But think of it that way... Ground accelerates air. Whenever the spinning part of the station has transfered too much momentum to the static part (via bearings and air)... the station presumably fires thrusters...

    EpDis: The Fall Of Night

I deem the depiction fairly acceptable -- even if I too suspect the 'ballistically correct way of Sheridan "falling"'... would have required him to experience a bit more wind. After all... once he's drifted away from the core region (assuming air matches the station's angular velocity, the...

"The form you have submitted is no longer valid."

\"The form you have submitted is no longer valid.\" I suspect the forum engine is currently a bit mis-configured. If it helps, I think I can present one repeatable way of causing a somewhat annoying effect. When one tries writing a longer post (as in, one which takes several minutes to...

Lost Season 1 (no spoilers of Season 2 please)

Re: Lost (no spoilers please) Dip a cup in the ocean? I may be silly, but I thought most oceans (probably also the Pacific) were too salty for humans to drink sustainably, without adverse health effects?
