    B5:TLT Actual DISCUSSION Thread

Re: Live from the B5 Set The sun rising in the east is a good reason for B5 bringing back Wayne Alexander. Not that I mind, of course.

Big news from JMS by late June or so

"Nerd Prom" has been circulating around a bunch of message boards for the last 4-5 years. My favorite, however, is "Nerdi Gras."

Babylon 5 novels and graphic novels

And if you read the Newsarama thread, it's pretty clear the writer has plans and ideas for what he wants to do already, including dropping hints about the first story. Still, wouldn't hurt to wait for the official official word.

JMS - Reputation (relating to potential projects)

Re: JMS - Reputation (relating to potential projec I'll go one better and risk committing heresy on the board, and say that I think that Midnight Nation is the most successful, perfectly-executed thing that JMS has written for any medium, and yes I am including B5 there. MN explores a lot of...

JMS - Reputation (relating to potential projects)

Re: JMS - Reputation (relating to potential projec No, because the only way his projects can keep getting shot down is if someone keeps hiring him for projects. He's clearly in demand and has not had trouble finding work. So his reputation must be solid enough. And like others have said, this...

    uh-oh....this doesn't sound good.

Re: uh-oh....this doesn\'t sound good. Well, the way I read your post, the tax relief is only for low budget British films. So if the film's not low budget, whether it meets the standard of being British or not doesn't really matter. Which probably explains why big-budget effects pictures film...

    uh-oh....this doesn't sound good.

Re: uh-oh....this doesn\'t sound good. I have a hard time seeing any kind of SF/effects-driven film having a budget as low as the threshold mentioned in your post on the news thread, but I admit I haven't been keeping up with the exchange rate.

The No Speculation Thread - News Posts Only Please

Re: Newsonly: JMS \"Can\'t Comment\" Comment JMS has replied to one of the TMoS threads, saying: Not sure how newsworthy that is, but I know some people were commenting that he seemed to be deliberately ignoring the topic. So there ya go.

Poll: What about the Crusade DVDs?

If you're going to do that, make sure you write Warner Home Video a letter explaining exactly why you returned it, or else like Mac says, your protest will easily be construed as lack of interest.

    uh-oh....this doesn't sound good.

Re: uh-oh....this doesn\'t sound good. Not necessarily. He made a comment about the role of Franklin not being recast after Richard Biggs' death without confirming the existence of a movie. He could do the same in a post now without referring to TMoS, just by saying, "There's been no talk of...

Poll: What about the Crusade DVDs?

Bought and will keep, and will write a letter to WHV this weekend expressing my unhappiness. I don't blame anyone who's on the fence if this tips them toward not buying it, though. I completely understand why WB would not want JMS to comment on that stuff. I have no problem with that. What I do...

    Crusade DVD's

Re: Crusade DVD\'s My opinion of Crusade isn't as high as yours, but I don't regret buying the set for this reason. But it puts a foul taste in my mouth when I look at it, so I can understand why someone would decide not to go through with it. I would suggest that those people write snail...

    Crusade DVD's

Re: Crusade DVD\'s C'mon, Mac, we all know you've been anxiously awaiting the Legend of the Rangers DVD release. (ducks, runs) I actually think the commentaries on the projects that didn't pan out are potentially more interesting than the successes - which is one of the reasons I'm...

    Crusade DVD's

Re: Crusade DVD\'s Nathsn, I'm asking what other people who have the set on this board think for a few reasons: 1) It's very possible I'm imagining something, and wanted to get the impressions of other people before I did anything to make it an issue on the newsgroup. 2) My ability to get...

    Crusade DVD's

Re: Crusade DVD\'s I got my set yesterday, and I've been going over the extras. Did anyone else get a sense that Straczynski's commentary may ahve been edited? There seemed to be a greater number of long pauses than I recall in his previous commentaries, and a couple of those pauses seemed to...

    Crusade DVDs announced

I'm just glad that this is the last set for which we'll have to have the widescreen/4:3 discussion. :) And while I had no real problem with the widescreen B5 sets, I am glad that the folks who did will get at least one set that satisfies them.
