Problem goes back to the problems that were experienced by JMS. As you say, season one two and three were well written, and executed. With Season four, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding whether there would be a S5, so the race was on to finalize the main story arc that would see the end...

They're making two out of the last book so I'm hoping they pull enough of it together. Still, if one hasn't read the books, the special effects did represent the "darker" twist the story line takes

Must say that I found the HBP to be a little disappointing. Too much time spent on the "love interests" at the expense of so much of the actual storyline. Being a heavy critic of book to movie adaptations (LOTR was a prime example until I shook off the snobby point of view and enjoyed the movies...

It's more sci-fi than drama. It's set in the not-too-distant future where a plague wipes out everyone that has gone through puberty or was going through puberty. The childeren are forced to grow up in a world without adults and as a result, have to relearn technologies and secrets of living that...

Ah yes but it was a smuggler's ship so it had a valid foundation. There is a difference between modifying and pimping. I suppose it could be argued that certain "pimping" are modifications to enhance speed or sound but pimping is generally "overkill". That is merely my opinion ;)

If humans were to make the ship a "reflection" of themselves then in the future I would suspect you would have the whole "pimp my ship" aspect of interstellar travel. Maybe not all the ships but there would definitely be a group out there with part of the engine sticking out, neon lights, and...

Hard and militant. It's all about showing a hard visual, no nonsense stance. Especially because we are a martial species. Look at modern vehicles of war, they could almost be a basic template for the B5 universe's interpretation of human ships.

I wonder though, why a design reminiscent of a squid though? I don't mean to sound funny but I have always been curious about what prompted that idea. I mean, the battle crabs are obviously linked to the shadows. Even the minbari vessels, especially the cruisers, tend to reflect the minbari. So...

Pitchblack wasn't too shabby. Kinda like Alien but with wings. Any Farscape fans out there will appriciate Miss Claudia Black :D Want a storyline, watch Event Horizon. If you want good solid entertainment watch Pitchblack. It's a good foundation if you're interested in character developement...
