    Who's around

In rummaging through my SF folder on the PC, I found this site. I assumed it had faded into obscurity or even croaked but was happy to see it is still around. I still consider B5 to be my favorite TV series ever - but - I have also seen every nanosecond of Star Trek that has ever lit up a TV...

What is the slang term for the inclusive Babylon 5 universe?

Only thing I've used or heard is "Babylonians". Works for me.

Babylon 5: Ten Lost Tales that Sholud Be Found

As much as I would love additional B5 universe stories, I'm afraid that ship has sailed. We have to enjoy what we have, much like The West Wing, House and other fan favorites.

    Any Info on Lurker's Guide???

Just curious if anyone has any inside skinny. The site is still up but hasn't been updated in 14 months. Kinda sad to see a true B5 icon drying up like that.

B5 Episodes You Prefer To Skip?

Opinions are so funny. TKO is the episode that latched me to the series. The boxing story was at least OK and the racism issue was very well done. The Shiva for Ivanova was, IMO, absolutely brilliant. The cutting back and forth between the Mutai and the Shiva ceremony was riveting as both...

    We all hate Byron, but...

Actually, "we" don't all hate Byron. The episode where they convinced Bester that they were all dead was outstanding in my book. For many, the character suffered from Sinclair-itis - being too calm to be exciting.

    Completed The Series

Very interesting. I just started my fourth pass through the series this week. I saw it all the way through on the original broadcasts. Watched and taped it on a re-broadcast but was probably paying too much attention to the taping. Viewed the tapes from beginning to end about three years ago...

    EpDis: Passing Through Gethsemane

Pretty late to the discussion but this is one of my favorite episodes as well. Everything said above about the nature of repentance and forgiveness, as well as Dourif's performance, reflects my love for the episode. The story itself was one of JMS' best and everyone involved seemed to raise...

    B5:TLT, Success or Failure

LOL! Oddly enough, there was an episode of Enterprise that included a scene of Dr. Phlox doing exactly that. John Billingsly's prodigious skill made the whole grooming scene very entertaining. I'll bet a "button or zip" style scene with nail-clipping Garabaldi could be a hoot. BTW, I voted...

    EpDis: TKO

This is the episode that sold the show to me. Both arcs worked for me and all of the characters just jelled. I still get choked up when Ivanova recites the mourning prayer - and I'm not Jewish. I guess my username is sort of a give away.

B5:TLT -- just the news. And we mean that.

WOO-fraggin-HOO. I'll be there like a dog on a bone.

Will you watch Rangers series? Post to show support.

I went to the trouble and expense to get digital cable just to get the Sci-Fi channel, just to watch TL&DIS!!!! They had to dig up a part of my yard, pull a new cable from across the street and replace the cable in the house. After all that, would the mighty and very patient Sho-Rin watch a...

Now I know why I love this series...

The observant Sho-Rin also noticed, early on, that the extras always look purposful, not like they're looking for a lost contact lens or a quick game of grab-ass. The group scenes in the recently shown ep where the Markab are all dying is full of such examples. The scene where the little...

    why compare

The ancient and wise Sho-Rin is a professional speaker and obsessive linguist. This said, comparisons are necessary, relevant and fun. What spoils them is laying out absolute statements like "B5 is better." or "Trek sucks." These remarks are volatile and become the horse turds in the...

    why compare

Very well said! The Sho-Rin is a fan of both series as well. If I combine all the episodes of Trek and B5 together to select a top 10 episodes, there will be about the same number from each family. I can watch Darmok (TNG) back to back with Passing Through Gethsemene and still be deeply...

JMS' Reaction to the AICN Review

Re: JMS\' Reaction to the AICN Review As a relatively active member of the TrekBBS, the Sho-Rin saw much the same type of heated exchange prior to the airing of Enterprise. If somebody found a gum-wrapper behind the Paramount studio, it got disected for content and canon purity before the sun...

    Funniest B5 Quotes

First post. Woo-HOO?? as said by Lennier to Sheridan after the night that Sheridan and Delenn "...explore their centers of pleasure". The entire "Ivanova Dance" with the Lumati ambassador, Corelermerzon. You know, the one that started "We had a date the other night..." The mighty Sho-Rin...
