Children of Dune (spoilers)

Re: Children of Dune Considering that Dune was published in 1965, I think it's a coincidence. And the actually spellings are "Shaddam" (Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV) and "Arrakis".

    B5 Comics

In Valen's Name was released by DC in the U.S. as a separately numbered 3-issue mini-series in regular comics format prior to the trade paperback release. I have 2 sets of the original Babylon 5 1-11 comics (1 of the #1s I got signed by JMS at a Comic convention he appeared at). I have 3 sets...

    B5 Comics

Just as an FYI, the first 3 you list are issues 9 to 11 of the comic series. In Valen's Name was a separate 3-issue mini-series. That info might help your search, because most of the time they aren't listed by issue title.

    Myriam's the Birthday Girl!!!

Re: Myriam\'s the Birthday Girl!!! happy (blated) birthday, Myriam. Did you use any fancy Ranger moves to blow out the candles? [This message has been edited by nolesrule (edited February 04, 2002).]

Do you miss those Rangers ladies?

Absolutely! There's nothing better than a female ranger. Kicking butt and looking good all at the same time. ------------------

Why did Sheridan really replace Sinclair?

He's been asked many times, but he has been adamant about not revealing the original arc. As for the Lyta/Talia thing...you forget that Lyta was in the pilot. Her being altered by Vorlons thread would have been there all along because of her contact with Kosh from the pilot. But Pat Tallman...

    Crusade DVDs on eBay

I got my VCDs yesterday. Definitely worth the price. Crusade has been run 3 times on television and I haven't managed to record all 13 episodes. And like someone else pointed out, the VCD images won't deteriorate like VHS anyway. As a plus, my first generation Panasonic DVD-A100 can play these...

So, when do the ratings come in?

Small correction to the above. Those peoplemeter's are used for the overnight ratings, which are only based on major markets and not actually representative of the country as a whole. The diaries count too. There are 4,000 diaries out there every week and they are meant to record a single...

So, when do the ratings come in?

quote:
Here, the ratings are public knowlege within a few days and are released to anyone who wants them free of charge. It seems odd that a network can hold on to figures.

It's all about industry economics. It costs...

    Babylon 5 DVD Article

Those Amazon.com rankings are relative. It's not an all-time sales figure. The B5 DVD was at #11 at one point do to preorders. Now there are other DVDs out there that people want. In general, the farther you get from a release date, the lower the ranking is going to be. The entire top 7 are all...

    Mars Gravity

quote:
Two words: budget restrictions.

Quite true, actually. It's the same reason why the gravity level in C-n-C isn't depicted accurately on the station (which, IIRC, should alsow be about 1/3 of G) or why the...

News post: B5 series on DVD is go!

DVD-ROM? Any number of reasons could cause that problem, and every single one of those reasons is a shortcoming in the computer, not the DVD. Processor speed, memory, video card, DVD decoding software. Your computer isn't powerful enough to handle the signal. If your seeing pixelation, I'm...

News post: B5 series on DVD is go!

There only way DVD can look worse than VHS is if the DVD is made badly... ...or your DVD player is bad, or your connecting cables are bad, or your TV is not calibrated properly, or your TV is dying, etc., etc., etc. DVD has twice the resolution of VHS, so it should never look worse. Also, a...

    B5 and DVD

A DVD, like a CD, is much less expensive to mass produce than its tape counterpart because tapes have to be recorded linearly and DVDs are pressed, like coins. Add to that the fact that DVDs tend to have a higher price point than VHS tapes (much like CD/cassette) and you can see the profit...

An open letter to JMS re: the unproduced scripts

Exactly. You must have explicit permission from the copyright holder prior to doing whatever you do with the copyrighted material. Fair use is a different story, which doesn't apply to this situation at all. ------------------

    Spoo. It's whats for Dinner

Re: Spoo. It\'s whats for Dinner That definition of Spoo sounds like it came straight out of either the Encyclopaedia Galactica or the Hitchhicker's Guide. Afterall, Earth is/was mostly harmless.
