Re: Doctor Who Series 6

I thought it was quite clever that the `solution` involved something that we didn't know anything about until halfway through the series. (My favourite episode of the second half of the series, in...

Re: Doctor Who Series 6

Agreed . I thought it was a fantastic episode - and there was so much there that connected with previous episodes (if we've been paying attention :) ). And great to see a certain little...

Re: More B5 on the way?

We are fortunate in the UK to have had a continuously rolling Babylon 5, on the cable channel `FX` (slightly less on `FX HD`), since it began on 9th November 2009! :) More than a year and a half, now.

Re: Why are they showing episodes like this?

And just think how fortunate we are in the UK to have (at present) a continually rolling, consistently, chronologically shown B5 (and twice over) :). Some countries aren't getting this delight atm at...

Re: Doctor Who Series 6

Here in the UK there was a programme called `Doctor Who Confidential` (that followed the episode on another BBC channel) where parts of it showed Neil Gaiman reading sections of his script while...

Re: Doctor Who Series 6

Thank you very much, peoples . How nice for 3 different folks to come to the aid of this novice.

Here's my spoiler, then: Referring to River (and how good it is that we have two great...

Re: Doctor Who Series 6

Ah, I wanted to add a `spoilered` comment but couldn't see how to do it, alas. (Couldn't find it in FAQs, either. But I am a bear of small brain so please forgive my inadequacies.)

Re: More B5 on the way?

Personally, I would be happy with the story dictating whether there should be aliens or not. If a good writer wants/needs aliens, great. If a good writer doesn't want/need aliens, also great. The...

Re: Crusade: Other Voices - Vol. 1

I spent ages some time ago deciding on `my` order for Crusade as well. I find that my first 9 eps are the same as Tor's but in a slightly different order and my final 4 are (therefore) also the same,...

Re: EpDis: Comes The Inquisitor

My guess is that since the Victorian character in question has become a part of British (especially London) folklore then a fair number of those who live there (in the UK) did indeed guess his...

Re: Feb. 22, 1993 - "The Gathering" first aired

Yes, that was one of the many things I found fascinating about this new film/hoped to be series. I was finding the Star Trek versions of the future dull (occasional good episodes) and was really...

Re: Babylon 5, what order for movies & miniseries?

:)
I agree with Bester's order, with a couple of differences - see below - and also agree with his strong recommendation not to watch "In the Beginning" until much later - between series 4 and 5...

Re: Scripts Vol. 15 question

Yes, it's a puzzle, isn't it? :vulcan: Whenever I'm time-travelling, I'm never sure if doing or not doing a specific action I've been warned about will definitely lead to or definitely avoid the...

Re: EpDis: Rumors, Bargains and Lies

Surely the point here is that this is deliberately left ambiguous, and then we discover in the next episode that this very thing (i.e. the content and tenor of his communication with Shakiri at the...

Re: EpDis: War Without End Part Two

:)

Several years ago, when the British Sci-Fi channel showed the whole series, they had a whole load of `awards` to (notionally) give out for various features, from `best spaceship` (Shadow...

Re: Matt Smith Dr Who

Just watched the first episode of the Matt Smith series again and was interested to note that the statements (that we couldn't understand at the time): "The Pandorica will open" and "Silence will...

Re: Matt Smith Dr Who

Yes, very good :p. I liked that "timey-wimey" line from Sally Sparrow in `Blink` afterwards, too: "That sentence started out quite well" (or similar). And I like the "murdered the fez" line :) on...

Re: Legend of the Rangers: What Would Have Happened?

Ditto :). Easy to focus on the things that we don't like so much to the point that we don't notice and promote sufficiently the good things :): eg, the great performance of Alex Zahara as Dulann, ...
