Except it's not the only one. As I've already pointed out JMS has approved other viewing orders.

Sure. But that's not what he's saying.

Terry Jones(b5historyman) is one devoted fan, huge thanks for all your hard work! This order is from his Babylon 5 Historical Database as published in the 2008 book ACROSS TIME AND SPACE: The Chronologies of Babylon 5. Here's some of his ordering rationale notes: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9jqk568tcf...anon.docx?dl=0

However it appears to have a some minor continuity issues and doesn't always align to JMS's public comments:
1. "Sic Transit Vir" appears to go after "A Late Delivery from Avalon" per JMS here:
http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/guide/056.html
2. "War Without End" appears to go after "Walkabout" per JMS here:
http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/guide/062.html
3. "Thirdspace" appears to go after "The Illusion of Truth" based on the Lurker's analysis here:
http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/guide/112.html
4. "Day of the Dead" appears to go after "The Ragged Edge" based on discussion in this thread, the Lurker's analysis, and per JMS here:
http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/guide/096.html
5. "Ruling From the Tomb" appears to best go after "The Long Road" based on the order of Gideon/Lochley meetings and per JMS's later publications as described here: http://www.b5tv.com/showthread.php?t=45810
I realize this conflicts with the banner date, hence either way a continuity issue exists.

Edit: I've referenced b5historyman(Terry Jones)'s order in the new Viewing Order page that I've created on Fandom:

Oooooooooooooooooooooo cloaked!!!!! First post opening a can of worms right out of the gate!!!!! You chose the name "cloaked" and then threw off the cloak and announced your presence right away. I'm so confused. :wtf:

:guffaw::lol::guffaw::lol::guffaw:

HAHAHAHA Welcome to discussion. I'm sure B5historyman will be here soon to respond. Then you will reply or maybe I'll get back here first and make another joke. You know, typical stuff.

Re: JMS approved Chronological viewing order

I think the biggest continuity issue about where to place Thirdspace is Zack's uniform, which we see him get at the beginning of Atonement. My own head canon is that his uniform was torn during the fighting in Thirdspace, so he needed a new one, and if we remember in Voices of Authority he was complaining about his old EA uniform not fitting right, so maybe his B5 uniform had also not fitted properly, so he asked for the Minbari tailors to re-measure him. Doesn't quite fit with his grumbling about having to wear the uniform though.

That's just my head canon though. Truth is, wherever you put Thirdspace, either after Illusion of Truth which was JMS' original intention, in the middle of Moments of Transition (I'm not keen on this placing - it means Delenn has to go backwards and forwards between the station and Minbar) or somewhere else, it doesn't fit neatly anywhere.

Re: JMS approved Chronological viewing order

Regarding Thirdspace:
-Per davypi: Originally JMS had intended for it to fit between two specific episodes. However, according to dialogue in those episodes, Delenn was not on the station at that time yet she is in the movie. So the movie cannot actually fit where it was originally supposed to.
-The Lurker's analysis places "Thirdspace" after "The Illusion of Truth": http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/guide/112.html
-Per mongd66: I think "Thirdspace" would slot in after "illusion of Truth" as Sheridan is surprised that IPX could get authorization to work on the artifact
-Per b5historyman: Moments of Transition. Tuesday May 20th - Monday September 1st 2261 (This story takes place over 4 months. Thirdspace June 2261 (The story takes place in the middle of 2261 from on screen narration. This is during the events of Moments of Transition [after Delenn returns to Babylon 5 from Minbar, Franklin is back from Mars and Lyta is not been coerced to rejoin Psi Corps]).
-Per an anonymous Fandom user: During Thirdspace, given the damage to the station and the significant expenditure of resources the incident depicted represents. The movie would sit comfortably within Moments of Transition, which spans four months.

While Thirdspace may not fit perfectly anywhere, after doing more research I'm starting to lean towards thinking b5historyman's placement may offer the best continuity. I'd love to hear more opinions though, including any continuity issues created by placing it during Moments of Transition.

The silence from b5historyman has me worried. Anyone have a personal connection to reach out and check in? There is usually a pretty quick response to posts in this thread, but then again it did sit dormant for at least a year I believe. - CHECK THAT ALMOST TWO YEARS.

He's still around on FB. He had taken a break from the big B5 page for a while but just recently came back.

As I predicted in my own head Jan came through because Jan knows everyone!

Re: JMS approved Chronological viewing order

Watched Thirdspace again recently (first time in ages, I think it still holds up) and one of the main plot drivers in the first half is the blockade of B5 by Earth and the need of the crew to try and source resources from other places. They came up with a partial solution to this in Racing Mars by using the local smugglers, so to me this just cements the fact that it is set around the time of Epiphanies and The Illusion of Truth, when the blockade was still a big issue.
