    B5 Reboot?? Is it true??!!?!

    Who does that make me?

I thought it was, but for the reason hyp gave, I was not 100% sure. And decided that going by nick was less potentially embarrasing than going by someone else's name :D

Legend of the rangers first time viewing.

The latest XKCD comic seems kind of topical to this conversation. I cannot say that the context/mannerisms here seem any less odd than they seem there. A filter for a webcam pic? Really? AnlaShokGrey, you look lovely, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :D .. but it helps that I know to not...

    RIP Jeff Conaway

Dammit. :( Considering how relatively recent B5 was, it's really quite horrible how many of the people involved on the show are already gone. (renamed the thread, with the news now confirmed)

    Dwayne McDuffie

Moved these posts from the other thread, as it to my mind just really isn't appropriate. Even less appropriate would be arguing about this, though, hence I'll let it stand there.

    The Green Hornet

Much as I adore Christoph Waltz (and I'm super-adoring him this week for the stir he recently caused in Austria by describing Austria as a nation of slimebags in an interview. I'm very much enjoying the wank this has caused, and thank him every day for the free amusement :D), this just sounded...

Leslie Nielsen of 'Naked Gun' fame dies at age 84 (AP)

I'm one of those pathetically young people that used to only know the post-Airplane Leslie Nielsen .. but I recently also came to appreciate him as a drama actor. I'd say that it's actually his strength in this field that made him so effective in comedy - his ability to treat the most absurd...

    New Sherlock Holmes on PBS

I can try anyway :D .. that part is harder to explain, yes. But by engaging in massive fan wank, one could make a case that this, while being a stretch, is conceivable. Book Sherlock keeps quite a library at home which he uses as a brain extension whenever necessary - i.e. as soon as a topic...

    New Sherlock Holmes on PBS

Well, it IS canon. From a Study in Scarlet: So if it's ridiculous, it's Conan Doyle that gets the blame here. Personally, I would like to think that it's ridiculous, but I don't think it is - my sister recently had to explain to a 14-year old coaching student of hers that the Earth goes around...

    New Sherlock Holmes on PBS

They did a great job at updating it, IMO, while staying quite true to the characterizations and the feel of the original material. I especially approve of how they did Watson - in so many adaptations, he's reduced to a bumbling fool whose primarily purpose is to make Sherlock look awesome in...

    Sherlock (BBC)

Has anyone else been following this series? I'm generally not much of a fan of modern adaptations of classics, but I've been greatly enjoying this show (if a 3-part miniseries can be called a "show" - am hoping for more, though. And with 1 1/2 episodes, having only 3 episodes isn't that bad)...

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Angel's ending .. uh .. it's hard to say a thing about it without giving anything away. Let's just say the show ended on a bang, and the fanbase was massively split. Personally, I loved it.

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Just in case you've given up on Angel, I'd really recommend watching season 5. It takes the show in a completely different direction from season 4, and is at times pretty damned cool in a "none of this makes sense" manner.
